VADIM KUZNETSOV (1961) – a graduate of the Ryazan Grigory and Alexander Pirogov Musical College (guitar class of Leonid Grusho-Novitsky) and the Gnessin State Music and Pedagogical Institute (now the Russian Academy of Music) majoring in guitar (class of Alexander Frauchi) and conducting (class of Gennady Dmitriak and Boris Voron).

For over 25 years he has been a concert performer. Laureate of the IV All-Russian Competition of Performers on Folk Instruments, the winner V International Competition for Guitarists in Krakow (Poland), a diploma winner of various national and international festivals and competitions. Along with his solo concert activity, from 1995 to 2006 he played in a duet with the diploma winner of the international competition Ksenia Gitman.

At various times he worked at the Ryazan Regional Philharmonic Society, taught guitar at the Ryazan Musical College, Moscow Balakirev Children’s School of Art, Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. Since 1997 he has been working at the Moscow Schnittke State Institute of Music, since 2009 – professor. At the same time he teaches guitar classes at the Musical College of Schnittke Institute, Ippolitov-Ivanov State Music and Pedagogical Institute. He regularly travels to various regions to provide methodological assistance, conduct seminars and refresher courses for guitar teachers, master-classes, and also in the jury of the competitions. Since 2003 – Artistic director and Chairman of the jury of the Ryazan Piotr Agafoshin Open Competition-Festival for young performers on classical guitar.

Vadim Kuznetsov is the author of transcriptions and arrangements for guitar solo and duo, articles on the theory and practice of performing and teaching the classical guitar, curricula at various levels, scientific editor and consultant to a number of music publishers.
